From Age 7 – School Years 3 to 7 – Mixed Upper Voices
The Intermediate choir takes children from aged 7 and aims to develop their vocal and musical skills through an interesting and varied repertoire. Fun warm-up activities focus the children and teach them valuable skills for singing in a choir. The choir sings in up to three parts with some more challenging repertoire for the older members. Sessions also include singing games to build confidence, provide opportunities for solo singing and to keep rehearsals fun!
The Intermediates sing in at least three public concerts a year and have also made recordings for Sing Up. Children are also given the chance to take part in a workshop in the summer half-term, culminating in a full-staged musical.
Older singers in Intermediates are selected to attend one to one sessions with our Musicianship Tutor in addition to normal rehearsals. This helps to prepare them for the transition into Senior Choir, improving their theory and sight-reading skills.
The Intermediate Choir is an unauditioned group and we welcome new singers on selected dates throughout the year. If you would like to join please contact our General Manager via the Join FCMG contact form.
