FCMG Choir and Events Administrator
Part-time, employed at 0.9 FTE
We are seeking an Administrator with a music- or arts-based background, to act as the primary liaison point with our membership, to support the Musical Director, the Chair and the committee with the regular operations of the choirs and to work directly with venues and external clients.
For over 60 years, the Finchley Children’s Music Group has been nurturing and developing young musical talent. FCMG comprises 4 choirs for singers aged between 5 and 19 years, and welcomes over 200 choristers through its doors each week from across London and its neighbouring counties. Founded in 1958, with Benjamin Britten becoming President in 1963, FCMG has maintained its early commitment to commissioning new music for children’s voices and providing an excellent choral training, whilst fostering a love of music and performance in young people.
The ideal candidate will be the central administrative connection between the membership, the Chair, the Musical Director and the organisational committee. They will also be the primary contact point for the organisation with external clients and venues. They must have excellent people skills, a genuine passion for participatory arts, the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage multiple projects whilst maintaining both effective and efficient working practices. They should be able to demonstrate excellent administrative and digital skills in managing and processing data and be able to use and develop systems effectively, including databases.
