Autumn Concert Success

FCMG is celebrating their exciting world premiere on 23rd October at Alexandra Palace Theatre of Australian Cassie To’s Songs of the Reef, when our older Intermediate Choir and younger Senior Choir singers led by Rebecca Lodge Birkebæk joined Crouch End Festival Chorus and London Orchestra da Camera, under the direction of David Temple. This poignant piece shares the beauty and wonder of the Great Barrier Reef and highlights the devastating consequences of human noise on it and its creatures. Our FCMG singers sang with real commitment and a beautiful vibrant tone as well as contributing to re-producing the sounds and colours of the Reef. A wonderful experience for all!

At the same time friends and family were treated to an entertaining teatime concert at Brookland School following a workshop afternoon for Beginner Choir and younger Intermediate Choir singers with conductor Hannah King and pianist Yau Cheng. Beautiful singing with a focused sound and fabulous diction was enjoyed by all.

Our busy term continues with a performance by the Senior Choir on Sunday 30th October at 7.30pm at the New London Synagogue of I Never Saw Another Butterfly  by Julian Dawes. This is swiftly followed by our Autumn Concert at St John’s Church, Friern Barnet, on Wednesday 9th November at 6.30pm involving Chamber, Senior and Intermediate Choirs, and finally by our All Choirs Christmas Concert at All Hallows Church, Gospel Oak on Sunday 11th December at 6.30pm.
