FCMG London Children’s Choir - Tansy Castledine
Intermediate Choir Conductor
Tansy began her musical studies as the Parry Wood Organ Scholar at Exeter College, Oxford before gaining an MMus in Choral Direction and Church Music at the Royal Academy of Music where she won all the major prizes for Choral Direction. Following this, she was appointed Director of the London City University Chamber Choir and Director of Music at Belmont, Mill Hill Prep School.
Tansy is currently Director of Music and Organist at St Paul’s Church, Mill Hill, and Director of Music at St George’s College, Weybridge. She regularly directs day and residential courses for the Royal School of Church Music in Britain and is an Examiner for their national singing awards. Tansy has recorded on the Guild and Priory Labels and is also an Associate of the Royal College of Organists.
Tansy has been the Director of the Intermediate Choir for Finchley Children’s Music Group since September 2004 during which time she has prepared the choir for performances at both the Royal Albert Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall and instigated and directed an annual summer workshop for the children (Annie 2005, Aladdin 2006, Wind in the Willows 2007).
