FCMG London Children’s Choir - Summer School 2005
Summer School this year was at a wonderful new venue, Frensham Heights School, Farnham. As well as a superb Performing Arts Centre, we had the use of a fully equipped Music Block, and a level of comfort and catering which our students could easily become accustomed to.
We spent the week preparing a performance of The Boy Friend, by Sandy Wilson. The choir put on a stunning show, as you can see in these photos of the performance, taken by Simon Weir.
We were privileged to have Carl Heap direct our production again. Musical direction was by Grace Rossiter, supported by Steve Jeffes (chorus master) and Jennie Gould (accompanist). Choreography and Stage Management were admirably performed by Katie Heap and Talia Scholar.
As well as all the music and drama, there was a wide variety of lighter social activities, including a sixth form block which provided table tennis, pool and table football as well as being the location of our tuck shop, and a heated outdoor swimming pool which was available for one hour a day.
Evening activities included rounders and football matches, a formal Ball, for which the children dressed up to the nines, and the usual display of talent and hard work that is Cabaret
We look forward to seeing you all next year, hopefully at the same venue.
