Senior and Chamber Choir Accompanist

An experienced accompanist and vocal coach, John Evanson has been senior accompanist to the Finchley Children’s Music Group since 2000.

Beginning at an early age, playing for his father in the family home, he has accompanied at many competitions, concerts, recitals and examinations. These have ranged from local music festivals and school concerts to degree recitals and national competitions. 

Before graduating with an honours degree in music from Bristol University he was organ scholar at St Mary Redcliffe Church and gained the ARCO diploma during his final year. John has also recently completed a postgraduate diploma course in singing from the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Janet Price and Timothy Barratt and now divides his time between accompaniment, coaching and professional choral and operatic work.
